Do you have to be exactly 15 1/2 to get a drivers permit?

Im 15 years old and was born on feb. 20. do i need to be exactly 15 1/2 to get my permit. Im 15 and four months years old. Does the extra 2 months really make that BIG of a diffrence, or can i just get it now.

If i do have to be 15 1/2 does that mean i have to atleast wait til aug 20. to get my permit (when im offically %26quot;15 1/2%26quot;)

15 and 7 months for a permit
Reply:well where i live im pretty sure you do have to be 15 1/2
Reply:it%26#039;s different in every state, where i live you have to be 16 to get a permit...i think you can look it up on the state government website
Reply:what state r u in...?
Reply:you have to be 16 to get the permit
Reply:Yes it does matter and you have to be at least that old, so you%26#039;re gonna have to wait those extra two months to get one.
Reply:What is involved in getting a driver%26#039;s license? There%26#039;s no straightforward answer to that question. It depends on where you live and whether you already hold a driver%26#039;s license for another jurisdiction.

For new drivers there is normally an age requirement (usually 16 or 17 years in the USA and Canada). There is also a medical check, which is usually a simple vision test to see if your eyes have the minimum capability. And most places have a road test, to see if you can actually drive a vehicle well enough to operate in traffic.

Those are the basics. But the details of getting a drivers license vary from place to place around the world. Countries such as Germany and Japan start drivers at a later age (18 years in Germany) and have rigorous training and education requirements. And there are still places where getting a driver%26#039;s license is as simple as applying for a permit to practice on public roads, waiting a few days, and then taking a very simple road test which may consist of little more than a drive around the block.
Reply:It sorta depends on the state, but in most the 2 months wouldnt matter. So I would just go to the place where you want to try and get the liscense and ask them if its okay if you start....

hope this helped
Reply:16 1/2 is when you start driving lessons
Reply:What state do you live in? In NY you have to be exactly 16 to get a permit, and 17 to get a limited license, and 18 for a normal license.
Reply:just 15
Reply:Well, it depends where you live. Some states have a law that you must be 16, where other places, you could be as young as 14. If you really want your permit, ask your parents, or someone you know that drives, when you can legally drive.
Reply:No, it doesn%26#039;t. I know someone who turned 15 in September and then got their permit in January. That%26#039;s four months.

It depends on what state you%26#039;re in, some places you have to be sixteen. I live in Nevada, and it%26#039;s fifteen and a half here.

Reply:It depends on the state it is either 14, 15, or 16 in any state.

Go to your local Department of Motor Vehicle website to see what it is for yours. Before you get a permit you must complete a pre-requisite 6 hours work of Driver%26#039;s Ed.

Call a local Driver%26#039;s Ed Class Center or visit Driver%26#039;s Ed In A Box.com
Reply:where i live you have to be 15 and have Bs in school
Reply:the best thing is to check with the dmv in your state and see how old you have to be to get your permit.
