Got in an auto accident, their lawyer wants my liability coverage info, good idea to give it?

Small dent on my car, hit the rear corner panel of her car doing about $2000 worth of damage. Her and her friend are taking advantage of a situation to abuse my insurance and are making claims. Should I give this information up?

definately give them the number to your insurance company, let the ins. co. deal w/ it from there. if you don%26#039;t they might try to pursue a lawsuit against you instead of the ins. company. was there a police report? if not, then i am not sure how the law works, but if so, they probably have all the info they are going to need, the police should have exchanged all info. Good luck : )

They are trying figure out how much to settle/sue for based on your insurance policy limits. You are completely in your rights not to release that information unless they get a court order.

You pay enough money for insurance, call your company and let them deal with the other driver and their attorney.
Reply:It is proof you have coverage. There is dick all they can do with it. The ladies may try to take advantage of the insurance, but the insurance do not give out money easily....if at all. They need proof, and proof to back up the proof. It is not your worry.
Reply:No. You should let your agent handle this.
Reply:Do NOT give your policy limits. Refer them to your insurance company (I am assuming you reported this). Give them the phone # %26amp; your claim # %26amp; that is it.
Reply:You should report the accident to your insurance compay ......ASAP......! and let them handle everything. You have insurance, you paid for protection, let them protect you. ALWAYS make a report to YOUR insurance company.... ALWAYS !
Reply:Of course it is a good idea. Do you want to pay for the claims on your own? That is why you have insurance. Report the loss to your insurance company, and refer the attorney to them as well. Do not provide him with a copy of your declarations page and/or coverage limits. Let your insurance company deal with it.
Reply:It%26#039;s unfortunate to hear about your situation. I was hurt once when a delivery truck backed over my foot at work. My employer attempted to settle with me quickly because I knew they were try to get me to sign some papers to release them from responsibility. I called a nearby lawyer in my area who gave me excellent advice and I was able to get a small settlement to cover my hosptial bills that weren%26#039;t covered by my work insurance. I%26#039;d find a personal injury in your city. http://www.accidentlawyerlocator.com My accident lawyer was helped me because they stand to make some money at the same time. Try calling a injury lawyer to see if they can help.

Good Luck
